Z's one year portraits

I finally took Little Z's one year photos.

There are so many things that I love about my little guy, but one of my favorites is his crazy hair.  It's always sticking straight up, and even though I tried to tame it a bit for these photos with some hair product, it still stuck straight up.

I love that about him!

So grateful for my little man.
Here's my favorites.

six month portraits

Since I've been busy taking everyone else's family photos, I thought I'd better take Z's 6 month portraits too.

He wasn't super smiley--we did this right before nap time.

But, he loved all the attention from M & A trying to get him to smile at the big black thing I always stick in his face. David's job was to be the "catcher" just in case Z he fell off the chair...

...which he actually did at the very end of our short 10 minute session. But, David caught him-- just barely--before his head hit the floor. Too bad I didn't get a photo of that!

seniors & {best friends}

I've been purposefully backing away from taking on any photo shoots lately, but this one was a must-do! Best friends and graduating seniors. What a fun session!

newborn: Max

This little guy was such a treat to photograph. He slept the entire time, and was super laid-back, which made my job very easy. Such a sweet baby!

emily + baby in tow

It's always fun to take photos for my friend, Emily. Not only is she super-cute, but she is likely the cutest pregnant woman ever. Oh, and she knows just how to pose. I had to ask her if she'd modeled anytime in her life, but no, style just comes naturally to her!

From certain angles, you can hardly tell she's pregnant. Just a tiny little bump here.

I love the funky shadow!

And, my personal favorites from our session. I love the sunflare peeking out from behind her belly.

Ok, Emily, there's your little peek. It's really too bad we ran out of light, because I was having fun! The last place we went we were literally shooting in the dark, which I really don't recommend. If I get brave, I may post one just to prove my point. :)

little miss sunshine

I met Little Miss Sunshine for the first time last week, just before she turned the BIG "1". She's my friend Mel's daughter and she is quite the flirt! Even after her long three-hour car ride to come visit me and get her photos taken, she was all smiles. I don't know about you, but I'm usually not so perky after I've been stuck in the car for three hours. But, Mel has always liked to drive around, so maybe she gets it from her mommma!

And, it's fitting that I'd be posting this little peek today, because today is Mel's birthday. Happy Birthday, friend! So good to hang out with you. We really need to do that more often. Love you both!
xoxo Kristina

my beautiful friend

I had the pleasure of hanging out with my old friend Tiffany (aka T-Love--totally an inside joke). We go back a long ways, all the way to our Greeley days at UNC. And, even though we've both re-located to Orlando, we just don't see each other enough--ok hardly ever. But, we don't hold it against each other. It's sure a treat to hang out, though. We had fun reminiscing about our first fall when we took each others' photos using my old 35mm film "Barbie" camera. Yes, that's right. I own a Barbie camera.

Tiffany, you're beautiful! We really should try to see each other more often!

lady in red

Isn't she just stunning? I think red is such a great color choice, especially for an expectant mom. Here's my play on a storyboard. I recently figured out how to make a cute little scalloped edge border. I think it's just so fun! Oh, and my favorite new font is "Mary Monroe" from fonts101.com. Ok, I'm off to make school lunch for tomorrow!

down at the tracks

Though it looks lovely at the RR tracks, beware it is not! The standing water around the ditches makes lovely homes for mosquitoes too. And, they loved us! So, we did not stay long at all. But, I think it was worth it, don't you? These are by far my favorite shots out of the day. Oh, and the train the background? Yeah, we planned that just so we could get some good composition. No, not really. (We were walking along and Larry goes, "Isn't that the train coming?") We were forced into the mosquito filled ditches. Not so lovely, but at least the photos are. Thanks, for going along with my crazy ideas, Larry and Amanda.
